JEE MAIN 2026 EXAM DATE, SYLLABUS, ELIGIBILITY & PYQ's:  

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national-level entrance exam in India for engineering programs. It consists of two stages: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is a screening exam used for admission to various engineering colleges including NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, and it also serves as a prerequisite for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is the final exam used for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Level: National Level Exam.

Exam Conducting Body : National Testing Agency (NTA).  [ https://nta.ac.in/jeemain.nta.nic.in/].

Exam Medium: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Punjabi. [13]

Application Fee:  

  • General/OBC/EWS (Male): ₹1000 (for a single paper) 
  • General/OBC/EWS (Female): ₹800 (for a single paper)
  • SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: ₹500 (for a single paper)  
  • Foreign Nationals: ₹3000 for a single paper, ₹5000 for multiple papers (INR)


For Foreign Nationals:

  • Single Paper (B.E./B.Tech or B.Arch or B.Planning): INR 3000 for General/EWS/OBC-NCL, and INR 3000 for SC/ST/PwD, according to one source.
  • Multiple Papers (e.g., B.E./B.Tech + B.Arch): INR 5000 for General/EWS/OBC-NCL, and INR 5000 for SC/ST/PwD.

Educational Qualification

Completed Class 12 or Equivalent from a Recognized Board/University or a 3-Year Diploma Recognized by AICTE.

  • Minimum 75% in Class 12 or Top 20 Percentile (General category)
  • Minimum 65% in Class 12 (Reserved categories).
Age Limit No specific age limit. Candidates who completed Class 12 in 2024/2025 or are appearing in 2026 are eligible.
Subject Requirements
  • BTech (Paper 1): Physics, Mathematics, and one additional subject (Chemistry/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject).
  • BArch (Paper 2A): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.- 
  • BPlan (Paper 2B): Mathematics only.
Nationality Indian Citizens, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs are eligible.
Number of Attempts Applicants can attempt IIT JEE Main twice (January and April 2026 sessions).
